Smart phones have become part of our dailylife. No matter where we are, we can see people busy playing with their smartphones.

Smart phones benefit us. They not only helpus get information around the world more quickly and easily, but also escapethe pressures of life.

However, every coin has two sides. When wespend too much time on smart phones, we don't have time to communicate face toface with our friends or family, and our life, studies and work will be badlyaffected.

In my opinion, we should avoid using smartphones too much except for the purpose of learning. Meanwhile, it's necessaryfor us to take part in more outdoor activities.

根据第二段中的he struggled to sound out “Bud the Sub.” It sounded more like “Baw Daw Saw”及his difficulty with the alphabet可知,Ronny读不清单词,认字母也费劲,由此可推测,Ronny有言语障碍,即在言语这方面“缺乏能力”。

根据第五段中的Fighting back tears可知,作者是带着感动的心情去听Ronny给她读书;再根据倒数第三段中的he read to me with more expression, clarity, and ease than I'd everthought possible for him可知,作者没想到Ronny能读得那么好,由此可推测,Ronny的进步让作者有些惊讶。

24. B。 I want to be that author可推测,作者是一名作家。

Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing — projects must reach their fundinggoals to receive any money可知,只有筹款总数达到了预定目标,项目发起人才可以拿到钱,否则的话什么都拿不到(nothing)。

27. C。 Mozart, Beethoven, Mark Twain, and other artists funded works insimilar ways及结尾Kickstarteris an extension of this model可知,Kickstarter筹资的方式由来已久,莫扎特、贝多芬、马克?

They were hanging out in coffeehouses or just walking around thestreets of Manhattan; that's what they do, unless they're going to a movie可知,在Russo女儿的成长过程中,她的休闲娱乐活动仅限于跟朋友在咖啡馆里消磨时间、逛街或者看**。

Thetrick is ... How do I get them interacting with other people可知,Aldyn的少年活动室能让孩子们跟其他人多交流,这是这个楼盘的卖点。

30. A。 根据第五段中的The Laureate's tween room, though, puts particular stress onlearning可知答案。

31. D。 After finishing their work, they come here. “They just like the idea of sittingnext to a friend, and they may not even be talking to each other, but just thatcompanionship is important,”可知,孩子们喜欢来这个少年活动室是因为那里有朋友相伴,氛围很愉快。

根据第一段中的a streaming video of everything ... won't stop playing in my mind及第二段内容可知,作者上床睡觉时,脑子里就像放**一样,无论作者采取什么措施,都无济于事,因此她不能入睡。

根据第六段中的it so easy to keep this addiction a secret; it's not as obvious aslighting up a cigarette可知,运动上瘾不像抽烟那样很容易被人们发觉。

35. B。 I suffer from depression and OCD及倒数第三段中的I wonder ... It still feels very far away可知,作者患有精神方面的疾病,并且治愈之路遥遥无期。

49. C。根据本段内容,尤其是sleeping at my friends' houses, made everything seem alien可推测,对于想家的孩子来说,在家和不在家感觉非常不同。

50. B。根据本空后的felt a strong connection between people及everything seem alien可知,想家的孩子“遭受了(suffer from)”这些不同带来的痛苦。

51. A。根据本空后的because I was one of them可知,作者身为其中一员,非常理解想家的孩子们的“感受(feeling)”。

及got back home in the morning可知,这里是指作者不在家过“夜(night)”。

59. B。60. A。 Theperson whose heart and mind could bind them into a single thing — a home — had gone可知,父亲不在了,就好像有什么从家里的东西上“消失了(disappeared)”,这些东西就“仅仅(merely)”只是物品了,再也没有家的感觉了。

Dear Mr. Smith,

I’m your new student, an exchange student from China. I’m writing to seek help from you.

What troubles me most is note-taking in class. As a non-native English speaker, it’s not easy for me to follow what the teacher says in class, let alone take notes. I hope you can give me some advice on that. Besides, because I’m a newcomer here, I don’t know how to get access to the school library. Do I need to sign up for a membership card and are there other library regulations I need to know? I would be grateful if you could lend me a hand.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Good morning, everyone!

It is a great honour for me to stand hereand deliver my speech. My topic today is “Set your goal and take action!”

As the saying goes, “Set goals. Reach them.Set new goals. This is the quickest road to success.” The first step towardssuccess is to decide on your goal and get started.

Take myself for example. When I enteredsenior high school, I set a goal for myself. I wanted to become one of the topstudents in my class. So I always worked hard at my lessons. My efforts paidoff because I was trying really hard and never gave up in the face ofdifficulty.

If you are aware of your goal and try yourbest, you will make it come true!

That's all. Thank you!

He accidentally inscribed the words “Post Office” instead of “Post Paid” on the several hundred stamps that he printed.Today there are only twenty-six of these misprinted stamps left fourteen One Penny Orange-Reds and twelve Two Penny Blues.

From the text…,According to…,True/not true,划线词语、句子,简单计算、排列事件顺序、识图等。

有的是通过加上相应的词语限制,如涉及到数量时常用many,almost all,nearly,more than,over,only a few,normally等限制。

What' s the topic/subject of the text/the second paragraph?

What is stated in…? The text is cheifly concerned with_______。

The story suggests that___________. It can be inferred that_____________.

The story implies that _____________. It can be concluded that __________.

 We can learn that _______________.

 ①利用构词法猜词;

同时特别留心某些词语,例如:or, that is, in other words, including, although, but, or, even if, on the other hand, on the contrary, other than, rather than, more than, instead of等词语之后的内容。

The Basics of Math—Made Clear

Basic Math introduces students to the basic concepts of mathematics, as well as the fundamentals of more tricky areas. These 30 fantastic lectures are designed to provide students with an understanding of arithmetic and to prepare them for Algebra(代数) and beyond.

The lessons in Basic Math cover every basic aspect of arithmetic. They also look into exponents(指数), the order of operations, and square roots. In addition to learning how to perform various mathematical operations, students discover why these operations work, how a particular mathematical topic relates to other branches of mathematics, and how these operations can be used practically.

Basic Math starts from the relatively easier concepts and gradually moves on to the more troublesome ones, so as to allow for steady and sure understanding of the material by students. The lectures offer students the chance to “make sense” of mathematical knowledge that may have seemed so frightening. They also help students prepare for college mathematics and overcome their anxiety about this amazing—and completely understandable—field of study.

By the conclusion of the course, students will have improved their understanding of basic math. They will be able to clear away the mystery(神秘性) of mathematics and face their studies with more confidence than they ever imagined. In addition, they will strengthen their ability to accept new and exciting mathematical challenges.

Professor H. Siegel, honored by Kentucky Educational Television as “the best math teacher in America,” is a devoted teacher and has a gift for explaining mathematical concepts in ways that make them seem clear and obvious. From the basic concrete ideas to the more abstract problems, he is master in making math lectures learner-friendlier and less scary.

With a PhD in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University, Dr. Siegel teaches mathematics at Central Arizona College. His courses include various make-up classes and a number of lectures for future primary school teachers.

If the course fails to provide complete satisfaction to you, you can easily exchange it for any other course that we offer. Or you can get your money back.
